This was such an unassuming, beautiful, family style, small business restaurant with delicious food, that also appeared to be high-quality ingredients. This is one of those places that you stumble upon, and are so glad you found it. I had the breakfast burrito which was fantastic, and a friend of mine had the Ropa Vieja Benedict. It was all amazing. And Kay, our server, was super sweet. She had a gentleness and kindness about her that really added to the experience. They are a small business and it appears family owned, and part of me wants it to stay a little secret so that there’s always room for me, but I also know they would appreciate the business so, you should check it out! Compliments to the chef and the staff. I hope to go back many times!
From the food, artwork, music it was all beautifully done. Staff were friendly and inviting. I highly recommend the salmon!
Was looking for a good spot to get some breakfast grub. Found this Gem and decided to hop in. First thing I immediately noticed was the quaint atmosphere. Its very cozy while still feeling very open, tons of natural light! After picking through the menu for a bit trying to decide what I want, I settled on the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. The different flavors and textures was really out of this world. Will definently be coming back! Service was excellent, very kind and caring people.
Leela on 8 is awesome. Great food, great service, great ambiance. The atmosphere is so comfortable and the staff are very professional and courteous. I've been here several times since my move to New Brighton a month ago and have never been dissatisfied. I feel treated more like a friend than a customer.
Love this place the food presentation was amazing. I ordered the Mimosa and a hash brown and egg dish, my son ordered a breakfast sandwich and hash browns. I was very pleased with the quality of the food and it was very delicious. Would definitely be returning. I would recommend this spot as a must try. Thank you for such a great experience!
One of the best lamb plates I've had in a very long time. Lamb tibs with an Ethiopian bread. Seasoned perfect. Wow. That's was outstanding.
My wife and I finally went to this restaurant for dinner and absolutely fell in love with it! The burgers are a must try. The overall vibe/atmosphere of the restaurant was great too. Beautiful artwork on the walls and i can tell the patio will be perfect in the spring/summer. The owner is super friendly and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It almost felt like you spontaneously walked into dinner with your family and more people joined in. I highly recommend coming here!
Lived in the neighborhood for years and finally tried this local restaurant. Great food at a fair price. Smoked salmon English muffin as well as breakfast steak. Good coffee, with decent coffee menu. (If we’re splitting hairs, the streak was slightly chewy) Atmosphere was a highlight. Sunday morning vibe was very laid back and cozy. Felt like everyone was happy to be there :)
First time visiting Leela on 8 and we had a great food and social experience! Food was delicious and service was quick. Tables are a little closer together (if you’re not in a booth), so we were able to have friendly, fun chat with table next to us sharing food choices! We had the Ropa Vieja Benedict with Cuban beef and a fantastic hollandaise sauce and we the Steak Scrambler - both were generous size dishes. It was a wonderful meal and we’ll definitely be returning to try more dishes!! Met Leela and she was very sweet !
Leela is such a great addition to North Minneapolis! The atmosphere is super chill, welcoming, and perfect whether you're grabbing a casual meal or hanging out with friends. The food was absolutely delicious, & you can tell everything is made with care. On top of that, the owners are incredibly kind and make you feel right at home. Great food, great people, and great vibes & a dog friendly patio. Mercy is a great server. I highly recommend checking this place out!
